Security & Data Protection
How Plagly.ai safeguards student data, academic documents, and enterprise privacy.
Last updated: September 2026
Zero Model Training
We never use your documents, student essays, or uploaded files to train public AI models.
Bank-Grade Encryption
All data in transit is protected via TLS 1.3 encryption; documents at rest use AES-256.
Automatic Data Purge
Uploaded files are processed in ephemeral memory and automatically purged according to retention rules.
GDPR & FERPA Aligned
Built from the ground up to support educational institution compliance and European data privacy standards.
1. Data Privacy for Educational Institutions
Plagly.ai is designed specifically with academic integrity in mind. We recognize the sensitive nature of student submissions. Student work is processed solely to generate requested originality reports and is never shared, published, or contributed to commercial machine-learning training corpuses.
2. Cloud Infrastructure & Hosting
Plagly.ai runs on Microsoft Azure enterprise cloud infrastructure hosted in Frankfurt, Germany (Germany West Central region). The facilities maintain ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 certifications with comprehensive physical and network safeguards.
3. Document Processing Pipeline
When a document is uploaded for AI analysis or plagiarism checking, text extraction occurs in a secure container. After analysis completion, raw files are removed in accordance with your account retention policies. Users can manually delete documents and analysis histories at any time from their personal library.
4. Vulnerability Disclosure & Reporting
We take security vulnerabilities seriously. Security researchers and users can review our security policy and submit reports via /.well-known/security.txt or by contacting security@plagly.ai.
